Pitch: A rivalry between twin sisters leads to death.
Scenario: A couple madly in love visit the woods to get away from everything, only to find out they’re the target of an envious sister who creates a cunning plan to break them up so she can be with the boy.
Treatment:
Crisis strikes when twin sisters fall in love with the same guy. Isabelle and Luke have been together for two years, they were madly in love. Isabelle’s twin sister Poppy is secretly in love with him, and cannot bear to see her sister with Luke who she believes is the one for her. Seeing them together made her go crazy, and one day she lost it. She plotted a malicious plan against her twin sister.
It was after noon that Isabelle and Luke decided to meet at the woods to get away from all the hassle and noise of the city. They would do this quite often without anyone knowing where they’d gone, but not for long. Poppy had found out that no matter how hard she’d tried to break them apart they became more deeply in love. This infuriated her and her and craziness took over. Acting like an obsessed psycho Poppy wanted Luke all to her self and would do anything to get him. It was then she decided that in order to get Luke she would have to get rid of her sister.
That night while her sister was in bed, she suffocated her to death.
A few days later Luke and Poppy were at Isabelle’s grave, mourning for her, while Poppy acted sympathetic and gave Luke a shoulder to cry on. Taking advantage of Luke’s weakness she gets close to him and pulls him into her trap. A Few weeks later they became an item. Luke had started seeing Isabelle in Poppy and would often remember Isabelle every time Poppy smiled or laughed he’d tell her of their resemblance this made Poppy’s blood boil but she remained sweet with Luke as her plan had succeeded.
Poppy is so pleased with herself plan that she returns to Isabelle’s grave to laugh at her dead sister. As she was leaving she threw a stone at the grave, grinned and walked away. As soon as she turned away the gust of wind made her shiver, she looked back to see nothing but the grave and walked on, not knowing that the ghost of Isabelle had rose from the dead to take revenge.
From this day on, Poppy’s life wasn’t the same. Every time she tried to get close to Luke, Isabelle would whisper in her ear cursing her and do other things which only Poppy witnessed to frighten her; slamming doors, dragging her down the stairs, ruining their night together. How Childsplay triggered torture and violence
- Childsplay 3 was mentioned to be the inspiration for the murder of James Bulger.
- The murder of a 16 year old girl involved her being tortured through listening to the catch phrase of ChildsplayChuckiewanna play?”
Childsplay a successful horror film of the 80's
- Childsplay 1988 it consists of a sequel and was the only film in the series to be released by MGM/UA as the rights of the film were sold to Universal.
- In 2008 a remake of the film was confirmed and is now set to be released in 2011.
- During the intial release of the film a ban was called through protesters claiming the film would incite violence in children but was shortly ended.
The rejected horror films of the 80's
- In England several movies were proceeded against by the Director of Public Prosecutions as they were seen to be too explicit.
- The movies were Cannibal Holocaust ,Driller Killer, I spit on your grave, Eaten alive (aka Death Trap) and SS Experiment camp.
Horror films of the early 80's
- Friday the 13th by Sean S. Cunningham released in 1980 a “slaughter spree” low budget splatter movie was greatly successful.
- Red Dragon by Thomas Harris (Dr.Hannibal) the fictious character creates the notions of the perfect serial killer in film.
- This created such a trend that it continued in sequences such as The silence of the lambs, Hannibal, which was adapted from Red Dragon masterfully.
Production of horror during 1980's
- During the 80’s horror was losing a lot of its mainstream appeal.
- This was quickly helped through special effects.
- The realism of special effects led in one direction to movies where watching flying bits of body became the point.
- At this time horror had become firmly established with quality work.

Storyboard for my second horror trailer
This is the storyboard plan for my second horror trailer although a few scenes were edited. It helped me and my group organise and decide altogether exactly what we wanted, rather than thinking different scenes without planning or writing them down which we did for my first horror trailer .

My second horror trailer
Planning: What you did? I was the main actress in this trailer.
Execution: What went well? The editing scenes, location and plot of the trailer went well.
Editing: What would you change/do differently? I would change the direction the villain comes out of and make her come out from the stair case which is the direction i was looking at in fear.
Comment on effectiveness: How does it meet structuralist expectations? Victim + Isolated school + Villain = reinforcement of horror encapsulated in the audience.

My first horror trailer
What you did? I took part in creating the sound effects and being the villain
What are the effects? The effects are that it evokes fear with the actor's facial expressions and body language
How does it obey structural paradigms? It obeys structural paradigms through the constructions of Victim + Isolated school+Stalker (villain) = fear evoked
What would you improve? I would add more scenes of the villain attacking and add tone cards

Saw 3D trailer and structural timeline
Equilibrium: Establishing shot of buildings
Moment of disequilibrium: At 19 secs the entertainer's hand is stuck in the machinery
Disequilibrium continues: At 34 secs a man screaming with blood and another at 40 secs is tramped in a cage and hung in the air, the audience is tied to their chairs in the cinema.
Tone cards: At 57 secs "Will you survive till the end?" creates discomfort of safety and conjures fear
Last shot: At 1.16 secs the actress is tied and in front of a moving machinery/ride which subverts audiences reactions as it moves toward them instead this creates terror and presents the powerful 3D effects.
Let me in trailer and structural timeline
Equilibrium: School assembly
Moment of dis equilibrium: Child is bullied at 12 secs non diegetic music is introduced
Conflict: At 46 secs hear a bang and extreme close up of child's eyes evokes fear

Disequilibrium continues: Screams dark gloomy images with night vision used and fast music played and loud bang repeats.
Last shot: jump cuts used, fast non diegetic souns and extreme close - up of man's eyes near door creates doubts in audience and generates fear.
